During the course of the fellowship, R. Andreas Kraemer will explore the interdependencies that exist between the challenges for European climate policy and the EU’s current legitimation crisis, and how discourse and possible solution approaches in both areas could be interlinked to a greater extent.
R. Andreas Kraemer is the founder of Ecologic Institute Berlin, an independent non-profit think tank for applied environmental research and political analysis. Between 1995 and 2015 he was the institute’s scientific director and general manager. He is currently a senior fellow at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam (until the end of 2017) and at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo (Ontario), as well as a board member of the Fundação Oceano Azul in Portugal. Since 1993, R. Andreas Kraemer has taught European integration and environmental policy on Duke University’s Duke in Berlin Program.
