Gökşen Çalışkan is the EU Advocacy Director at Euractiv, a leading online media outlet specialised in EU policies. She began her career as a reporter in Turkey, later transitioning to the business and consulting side of the news media industry. Her experience spans local, national, and European media outlets, including Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
Beyond her professional career, Gökşen is dedicated to societal impact initiatives, with a focus on building cultural bridges. She is an alumna of Belgium’s 40 Under 40 initiative and currently serves on the Board of Restless Brussels, an NGO that aims to connect the international community of Brussels with the city’s local realities.
Gökşen holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Ankara University and a master’s degree in Communication Policy Studies from City, University of London, awarded through the Jean Monnet Scholarship funded by the EU.
