Dr. Can Sezgin is a practice-oriented social scientist, experienced researcher and certified project manager. He is currently working as a research coordinator at the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV). He coordinates the research processes for the Foundation’s annual cultural policy reports, which aim to generate data-driven solutions for cultural policy issues in Turkey’s creative industries. In addition, he is responsible for the conception of the Foundation’s national and international projects.
Sezgin completed his studies in Siegen, Tübingen, Oslo and Vienna in political science, sociology and statistics. After finishing his PhD. in Marburg, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and held courses at various German and Turkish universities.
