Begüm Dereli works as a Project Officer on Inclusion at the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) in Brussels, carrying out advocacy activities at the EU level. In addition, she is the AIDA (Asylum Information Database) national expert of the country report on Türkiye. She holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences and a MA in Migration Studies from Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on the integration experiences of refugee youths through higher education. She worked in various research groups specialized in migration, inclusion, diversity-related issues, and research methodologies. Previously, she worked in protection and livelihood projects targeting refugee groups in Türkiye.
